Pick a town and a date, then move the slider to see where the sun is. The table below shows how many hours of direct sun a façade facing north, south, east or west gets. Useful when choosing a plot, planning room layouts and sun shading.
How rooms face the sun affects comfort, heating in winter and overheating in summer. A living room often makes sense facing south or south-west, a bedroom facing east. In sunny climates such as Herzegovina, shading from the summer sun is especially important.
The sun position is accurate to a fraction of a degree. The tool does not account for hills, neighbouring buildings or clouds, so for a plot we run a shadow study in a 3D model.
